Peter Cullen was born in Montreal and initially launched his career in Canadian television and radio. He soon emerged as a leading figure in the voice acting domain, earning widespread recognition for his work. His portrayal of Optimus Prime began with the 1984 animated television series Transformers, a role he reprised in seven major Hollywood films from 2007 to 2023, alongside various spin-offs. Cullen’s deep and resonant voice became synonymous with the heroic Autobot leader, leaving a lasting imprint on fans and the franchise itself.
Cullen also lent his voice to Eeyore, the beloved yet gloomy donkey from the Winnie the Pooh series. He voiced Eeyore in The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh and continued to embody the character in numerous other television projects, films, and video games. His ability to capture Eeyore’s mournful demeanor endeared him to audiences of all ages.
