The third edition of a youth training initiative in Oman, dedicated to electric vehicle technology and sustainable transport, has recently wrapped up. Running from July 19 to August 27, the “Electric Vehicle Experts” (EV-Pro) program engaged 35 young participants from various universities and colleges throughout the country.
During the program, these young men and women were trained in a wide array of disciplines related to electric vehicles. The curriculum included insights into electric vehicle technology, charging infrastructure, and network planning, as well as essential aspects of vehicle maintenance and operations. In addition, the economic advantages of electric vehicles and their potential to mitigate greenhouse gas emissions were significant topics of discussion.
Workshops provided participants with an in-depth understanding of environmental challenges and the principles of sustainability. These sessions were aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, offering a comprehensive view of global sustainability efforts. Moreover, the program incorporated activities designed to encourage the development of practical solutions tailored to meet local environmental requirements in Oman.
This training initiative is a component of Oman’s broader strategy to advance sustainable transportation solutions within the nation. It aligns with the country’s long-term vision to achieve carbon neutrality by the year 2050, reflecting a commitment to reducing environmental impact and promoting eco-friendly advancements in transportation.
