Oman’s Secretary General of the Ministry of Defence, Mohammed Nasser Al Zaabi, recently hosted a meeting with German Foreign Office State Secretary Dr. Géza Andreas von Geyr at Al Murtafa’a Camp. The discussions primarily focused on evaluating and enhancing the bilateral relations between Oman and Germany, with particular attention given to areas of mutual interest.
In addition to diplomatic talks, the German delegation had the opportunity to visit Oman’s Maritime Security Centre. Commodore Abdullah Ali Al Hajri provided an in-depth briefing to the visitors, detailing the centre’s critical responsibilities. These include monitoring maritime conditions, coordinating emergency responses, and ensuring the safety of maritime navigation across the region.
The tour of the Maritime Security Centre allowed the German delegation to gain insights into the facility’s capabilities. The visitors were introduced to the centre’s advanced technologies, equipment, and operational systems, all designed to bolster maritime security and enhance emergency preparedness.
This visit underscores the ongoing collaboration between Oman and Germany, particularly in areas of defense and security. By reviewing existing cooperation and exploring new avenues for partnership, both nations aim to strengthen their diplomatic and strategic ties further.
