Oman’s Ministry of Labour has announced that the country will observe a two-day holiday for its National Day in 2026, set for Wednesday, November 25, and Thursday, November 26. This extended break coincides with the weekend, offering citizens and residents an opportunity to enjoy a longer period of rest and celebration.
The announcement comes as part of Oman’s official schedule of national and religious holidays for 2026, allowing both public and private sector organizations to plan their work schedules in advance. This foresight is crucial for effective management of activities and staffing needs across sectors.
In addition to the National Day holiday, other significant holidays for 2026 include Sultan’s Accession Day on January 15, Al Isra’a Wal Mi’raj on January 18, Hijri New Year on June 18, and the Prophet Muhammad’s Birthday on August 27. The dates for Eid Al Fitr and Eid Al Adha will be determined and announced later, based on the sighting of the moon marking the beginning of the Hijri months.
National Day in Oman is a major celebration marked by events and activities across the country’s governorates, highlighting the rich heritage, culture, and national identity of Oman. These festivities serve as a time for reflection and celebration of the achievements of the nation.
